Club News:
Local Seniors Party On. On Friday the 16th of December the Club provided a delicious free Christmas luncheon and refreshments to over 300 senior citizens located in our region. Many from seniors groups and aged care facilities, that otherwise might not celebrate a tradtional Christmas with family.
Rodney Vincent sang some terrific songs and told gags, that at times brought tears of laughter to many. What is a Christmas Party without gifts? Many of these were also handed out throughout the afternoon.
Apology.
In last months Newsletter I welcomed some new staff members to our team. I have since met the Golf Club Manager, Kerr's, lovely wife Kerry, and not Denise, as I referred to her in the December newsletter. My apologies, Kerry for getting your name so wrong.

From the CEO's Chair
Dear Members,
Hi and welcome to the January edition of our newsletter. WOW didn't 2011 just fly bye. December was a steady month and I hope everyone had a great Christmas break. We have a great New Year's Eve entertainment with "Sweetrock" playing live in the Auditorium and Chef Gavin has a fantastic 3 course dinner in the dining room, bookings are essential with only a few tables left.
The Revival of Rock festival kicks off on Friday the 13th of January, with a great line up of entertainment including body art, it will be a great weekend.
In response to the Federal Government wanting to introduce a licence to punt, Clubs Australia have launched the It's-Un Australian campaign. This proposed legislation, if introduced in its entirety, will have an enormous impact on the clubs and pubs across Australia and treats all recreational gamblers as problem gamblers. Clubs sponsor sport, build sporting infrastructure, employ over 300,000 people, provide money for veteran's services, donate to local charities and sporting clubs, bring people together as places of relaxation and socialising. They are often the social heart of the community, providing places to meet, eat, drink and enjoy. The licence to punt will threaten the future of clubs. I urge all members to visit www.its-unaustralian.com.au and support your local club.
Don't forget that on Monday and Tuesday nights Kids Eat Free, so come along and enjoy a great night out in the Bistro.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I thank the Directors and Staff for their support of this wonderful community club. If I can be of assistance to you, please don't hesitate to contact me and I look forward to seeing you at the many cluBarham venues.
Cheers Paul Biddlestone Chief Executive Officer.
